At Big Sky Post and Beam, our process begins with a sit-down with our clients. We’ll discuss design ideas, personal needs, space requirements, and anything else that may affect how we begin fabrication. Then, we’ll put together a detailed design to show you how we intend to proceed. Our designs are customized based on your budget, and we ensure every formal draft we present will be engineer- and builder-ready.
Frame fabrication
We believe in quality throughout every stage of our process. At Big Sky Post and Beam, we use graded, kiln-dried Douglas Fir timber to provide durability and sustainability for every project. Once designs have been approved, we move into the fabrication phase to begin the process of creating your dream structure. All our frames are completed in our workshop to ensure the highest quality and then delivered and assembled directly at the selected building site.
What
TO EXPECT
When you work with Big Sky Post and Beam, you’re getting the whole package. Everything we deliver will be personalized to your project, ready for your builder to assemble. After we’ve fabricated your frame, you’ll receive the timber frame, custom steel plate joinery, construction plans, and our construction guide. We are also happy to provide you an estimate for siding and roof sheathing. All other building materials will be sourced locally by your contractor. The benefit of choosing a pre-fabricated frame is that it reduces the initial, on-site construction time. Our average frame is typically raised in 2 -3 days and ready for your contractor to dry in. This saves significant time over traditional “stick framing” and in every construction project time equals money.
